Federal Stimulus Funds for Hawaii

The Obama administration estimates the stimulus package will save or create 15,000 jobs in the state over the next two years. The stimulus package includes:

$210 million for education

$350 million for Medicaid

$280 million for state and local transportation and/or infrastructure projects

$25 million for energy
Governor Lingle, unlike many other Republican governors, is supportive of the stimulus and does not plan on rejecting any of the funding.
